Aster Seek Full Titanium Barrel Bradoon Fixed Ring
Ultra-lightweight, stable communication for the most sensitive mouths. Part of the Aster Helix collection, the Seek Full Titanium Barrel Bradoon has been developed specifically for horses that struggle to comfortably accommodate a conventional double bridle. Every element has been designed around reducing unnecessary weight, bulk and concentrated pressure within the mouth. Unlike bradoons where only the mouthpiece is titanium, Seek is constructed entirely from titanium, including the fixed rings, creating an exceptionally lightweight and delicate bit. This is particularly important when two bits are being carried simultaneously and for horses with very limited space within the mouth.
At the centre of Seek is a carefully designed barrel joint that creates a quiet, stable connection while allowing the mouthpiece to follow the individual sides of the tongue. The broader, smooth profile of the mouthpiece is designed to create a generous tongue-bearing surface, distributing the rider’s contact across a greater area rather than concentrating pressure into smaller points. Combined with its incredibly low weight and refined proportions, Seek is designed to create a quieter, less intrusive presence within the mouth and encourage the horse to confidently come forward and seek the contact.
The fixed ring cheeks provide additional stability, keeping the mouthpiece quieter and more consistent within the mouth than the loose ring version. This makes the Fixed Ring Seek particularly suited to sensitive horses that can become unsettled by excessive movement or that benefit from a more stable and predictable connection with the rider’s hand.
Seek was developed particularly with the ultra-sensitive horse in mind — including horses with small mouths, limited intraoral space, previous oral or jaw sensitivity, or those that have struggled to accept conventional bradoon and Weymouth combinations. For some horses, the problem with the double is not that they need a different or stronger mouthpiece; there is simply too much equipment within the available anatomical space. Helix takes a different approach: the horse should not have to make room for the double; the double should be designed to make room for the horse.
