Aster Settle Full Titanium Weymouth Short Shank
Ultra-lightweight, refined curb communication for sensitive mouths. Part of the Aster Helix collection, the Settle Full Titanium Weymouth has been developed specifically for horses that struggle with the weight, bulk or intensity of a conventional double bridle. Every element has been designed around reducing unnecessary material within the mouth while creating a softer, more considered interaction between the tongue, bars and curb.
Settle features a gently curved mouthpiece with a low, relatively narrow port, designed to work predominantly over the tongue while providing greater clearance around the bars. This can be particularly valuable for sensitive horses that react strongly to concentrated bar pressure by over-flexing, withdrawing from the contact, becoming tense through the jaw or reacting disproportionately to relatively small curb aids.
Constructed entirely from titanium, including the mouthpiece and cheeks, Settle is exceptionally lightweight and refined. This reduction in weight and bulk is particularly important within a double bridle, where the horse must accommodate both a bradoon and Weymouth simultaneously. The Short Shank provides a refined curb action, allowing the rider to communicate through small, considered aids while retaining the elegant proportions of the Helix design.
Settle is designed for the horse to remain soft, forward and receptive to the rider rather than feeling the need to react away from the curb. The aim is not to make the horse less responsive, but to create an environment in which subtle aids can remain subtle — allowing the horse to respond rather than overreact. Settle was developed particularly with the ultra-sensitive horse in mind, including horses with small mouths, limited intraoral space, previous oral or jaw sensitivity, and those that have struggled to comfortably accept conventional double bridle combinations.
Paired with the Helix Bradoon range, the result is an exceptionally lightweight double designed around the anatomy and sensitivity of the individual horse.
MAY PARTICULARLY SUIT HORSES THAT:
• Have an ultra-sensitive mouth and react strongly to conventional Weymouths.
• Have a small mouth or limited space available for two bits.
• Struggle to comfortably accommodate the weight or bulk of a conventional double bridle.
• Are particularly sensitive to concentrated pressure over the bars.
• Tend to over-flex, shorten the neck or retreat behind the contact when the curb is introduced.
• Become tense, apprehensive or defensive in a conventional double.
• Overreact to relatively small curb aids.
• Need encouragement to remain forward and work into the bridle.
• Benefit from a more tongue-led Weymouth profile with greater consideration around the bars.
• Have previously struggled to settle into a consistent double-bridle contact.
• Have a history of oral or jaw sensitivity where a low-bulk, carefully considered set-up is appropriate following professional assessment.
• Benefit from an exceptionally lightweight Weymouth alongside an equally refined bradoon.
