It is designed for horses that already understand the basic contact but require greater adjustability and influence without simply increasing pressure through the mouthpiece.

Confidence II features a gently curved, double-jointed profile with a very small central lozenge. The lock-up action limits excessive collapse and unnecessary movement through the joints, creating a stable and predictable platform within the mouth. This becomes particularly valuable as the cheek action becomes more sophisticated, allowing the horse to interpret the additional aids without also having to manage excessive movement from the mouthpiece.

The Baby Pelham introduces leverage, curb and poll influence. As the relevant rein is engaged, the leverage brings the curb into action beneath the jaw, allowing the aid to be distributed beyond the mouth rather than relying solely on increased mouthpiece pressure. This can provide the rider with greater influence while retaining the clear, consistent feel of the Confidence II mouthpiece.

Constructed from lightweight titanium, the mouthpiece reduces weight and bulk within the mouth. This makes the combination particularly appropriate for finer or more sensitive horses that require additional influence but do not necessarily benefit from a heavier, more substantial mouthpiece.

The Confidence II Baby Pelham sits naturally later within the horse’s education than the basic Confidence II snaffle cheeks. It is intended for a horse that already understands the contact and is ready for the introduction of more sophisticated communication through the curb and leverage action.

MAY PARTICULARLY SUIT HORSES THAT:

• Already understand a consistent snaffle contact.
• Are ready to progress to the introduction of curb pressure and leverage.
• Require greater rider influence without relying solely on increased pressure within the mouth.
• Benefit from a stable mouthpiece while the cheek action becomes more sophisticated.
• Become confused by excessive mouthpiece movement.
• Are finer or more sensitive and benefit from a lightweight mouthpiece.
• Require additional influence for jumping, faster work or more exciting environments.
• Become stronger while still benefiting from a clear, predictable mouthpiece.
• Need greater adjustability as their education progresses.
• Benefit from pressure being distributed beyond the mouth through the Pelham action.

DESIGN FEATURES:

• Aster Confidence II double-jointed lock-up mouthpiece.
• Very small central lozenge.
• Gently curved profile.
• Lock-up action limits excessive collapse and unnecessary movement.
• Lightweight titanium construction.
• Compact Baby Pelham cheek.
• Introduces leverage, curb and poll influence.
• Curb action allows the aid to be distributed beneath the jaw as well as through the mouth.
• Stable mouthpiece complements the more sophisticated cheek action.
• Designed for horses that already understand the basic contact.
• Provides a progression from a snaffle action into more refined and adjustable communication.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0954/3453/9348/files/43_0d24066c-3250-4175-9b2c-5b9e56250e8f.png?v=1790597015
