The Gentle mouthpiece has been designed to provide a broad, comfortable bearing surface over the entire mouth, helping to distribute pressure rather than concentrating it over a smaller area.

A key feature of the Baucher cheek is the way the mouthpiece is suspended from a separate upper cheek attachment. This changes the relationship between the bit and bridle and is designed to reduce backward drag through the mouth and jaw compared with cheek arrangements where the mouthpiece is pulled more directly backwards by the rein. For horses that are sensitive through the jaw, TMJ or poll region, reducing this backward component can create a more comfortable, less restrictive feel and may help the horse remain softer through the jaw and poll. The fixed Baucher cheek also provides greater stability than a loose ring, holding the mouthpiece in a more consistent position and providing additional lateral guidance.

The Golden mouthpiece offers a warm, tactile material that many horses find pleasant in the mouth and is designed to encourage acceptance and salivation. Its fixed design creates a more immediate and consistent connection than a loose ring, while the shape of the cheek can assist with steering and turning. This makes the Confidence II Dee Ring particularly useful during the early stages of education, and it has become a popular choice for breaking and starting young horses.

Constructed from titanium, the mouthpiece is exceptionally lightweight, reducing both weight and bulk within the mouth. This can be particularly valuable for finer or more sensitive horses, or those that appear uncomfortable with the weight and substance of a more traditional mouthpiece.

The aim of Confidence II is not to increase the strength of the rein aid, but to make that aid easier for the horse to understand. Confidence II is an educational mouthpiece, giving the horse a stable platform from which to understand the rein aids and develop confidence in the contact.

The gently curved, double-jointed mouthpiece incorporates a very small central lozenge and Aster’s lock-up action. This limits excessive collapse and movement through the joints without making the mouthpiece completely rigid, creating an even, predictable feel across the tongue.

This can be particularly useful for horses that become inconsistent in the contact, dip in and out of the connection or appear confused by excessive movement. The fixed cheek creates a more immediate and consistent rein connection than a loose ring, making this combination particularly useful when establishing the fundamentals of turning, lateral guidance and a confident forward connection.

The Sweet Iron mouthpiece naturally oxidises with use, producing its characteristic taste, which can encourage acceptance and salivation.
